Two chapels (1828/1834) created an idyllic Marian pilgrimage site near a spring, which is used intensively every year, which is currently not possible due to the corona location. There used to be a coal kiln here.Legend of the origins of the Kohlenbrunn pilgrimage (Michael Waltinger, Niederbayerische Sagen):"Origin of the pilgrimage in Kohlstattbrunn. Lorenz Seidl, Häusler von Frauenberg went to the parish church in Grainet on a Sunday in September 1753. He had a rifle with him. At this point he saw a hare that he followed for a long time. Now the doorbell rang for the church service. Completely angry, he cursed the hare. Black he came under his arm. He pleaded to Jesus and Mary and the hare was gone. The black hare was probably none other than the devil himself, who wanted to take the Sunday molester with him to hell As a reminder and out of gratitude for his salvation, Seidl had a wooden chapel built here, in which a statue of Our Lady is venerated by the pilgrims. The spring by the chapel is considered to be medicinal. "

The very beautiful chapel has a beautiful outbuilding to the left, which is also definitely worth a visit. These sights are not to be missed, and you can also take a quiet break here.
