The ruined tower of a former windmill on Werner Strasse is one of the oldest structures still in existence in Selm. In 1551, Bishop Francis gave permission to build a windmill on the Klockenberg. The round tower with its 4 floors was built from rubble stones on an artificial hill. The sandstone that the window frames were made of was probably quarried in a nearby quarry. A storm in the 18th century had removed the roof and the wings. Grain was still ground here until 1911. In 1985 the structure was included in the list of monuments of the city of Selm.
