Weilimdorf center with Oswald Church and old town hall. Weilimdorf's old town hall was an important part of the town center from 1605. Weilimdorf was first mentioned in documents in 1243, when it was assigned to the Sindelfingen Canonry and later became part of the territory of the Count Palatine of Tübingen. The town belonged to the County of Württemberg from 1308. Weilimdorf's coat of arms shows the church in the center of the village and is a reminder of the more than 500-year-long connection with the University of Tübingen.

The predecessor of today's Oswald Church dates from the period between 1131 and 1181. It is assumed that a simple wooden church from the 8th/9th century must have stood on this site at that time.

The first documented mention of the church in "Weil im Glemsgau" was in 1243. In 1472 the existing Romanesque church was rebuilt and expanded. The stone outside above the north entrance bears witness to this. In 1595 the tower was destroyed down to the 2nd floor by lightning and was completely rebuilt in five months.
