"Vituskapelle" Cemetery chapel St. Marien in Gruol

Historically important church from 1323

The correct name of the Vitus chapel is actually "Our Lady's Church". From the first Romanesque chapel at the end of the 12th / beginning of the 13th century. a larger area in the south wall is still preserved today. The current Gothic chapel was built in 1323. Around 1350/60 the sacristy was added to the east of the choir. 1452 began the installation of the wooden barrel ceiling in the nave with murals, 1460 the bell tower was built. The historic Vitus chapel got its striking spire when the St. Clemens church was renovated.
