    Hiking

The artwork depicts a bow of a fishing vessel with a copper sea eagle on top. On the hull of the bow is written 'ZK 69' which stands for Zoutkamp 1969, the year in which a definitive cut was made between the sea and the village. With the sea eagle it is like a kind of phoenix rising from the dike. It is a monument to the resilience of the inhabitants of Zoutkamp and of nature.
