The church of St. Kilian in Wettringen has been dedicated to the Franconian apostle Kilian since 1669. Christ, the Salvator mundi, above the church portal (with the year 1775) greets those entering and blesses those leaving. The high altar from 1781 contains the image of the crucified Jesus surrounded by Mary and John, Jesus' favorite disciple.
