Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg

Great climb out of Saint Hippolyte through vineyards and later through sparse forest. The road is well developed and rises evenly and not too steep. Some serpentines relax the ride, from the Auberge de Kœnigsbourg the road opens only the castle and is currently re-asphalted (04/2018) which makes the following descent very pleasant. Of course, the castle itself is worth a visit, but at least one to two hours should be enough for that. Even without a visit, the view from there is spectacular. Since the castle is visited a lot on weekends, it is advisable to drive in the early morning hours or on weekdays outside the holidays.

Very nice climb in a beautiful Alsatian forest. Never excessive slopes. Streets, as always in these parts, perfect.
