Tirana Skanderbeg Square (in Albanian Sheshi Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu) is the main square of Tirana. It takes its name from the Albanian national hero Giorgio Castriota Scanderbeg and is the symbolic place of Albania, whose geographical and political center it ideally represents.
With an area of 40,000 m², Skanderbeg Square is the largest in the Balkans and is used for celebrations of social, cultural, political and sporting events and sometimes for commercial initiatives.
