The Leopold Fountain is located on Rennweg in front of the Imperial Palace. This equestrian statue of Archduke Leopold V (1619–1632) is the oldest depiction north of the Alps of a horse carrying its rider only on its hind legs ("Courbette"). Sea and hunting goddesses cast in bronze based on designs by Caspar Gras adorn the fountain.

The Leopoldsbrunnen in Innsbruck can be seen from afar. No wonder, because in addition to several sea deities, it is also decorated with the equestrian statue of Archduke Leopold V, who was the sovereign prince of Tyrol from 1618 to 1632.
