The Kruisheide forest is a valuable oak forest. The municipality of Londerzeel purchased this forest a number of years ago. Two years ago, Natuurpunt Londerzeel acquired an adjacent plot with mainly chestnut coppice and various large tree species. Together these plots form a beautiful green buffer on the northern edge of Londerzeel.

Hiking

As part of coppice management, many trees were cut down close to the ground. The side of the forest facing Kruisheide looks a bit bare. Now we wait for the trees to sprout again. Paths and the butterfly trails are accessible.
