The bridge is only recognizable as such at second glance. The bridge saints are beautifully restored and wonderful to look at.

The Nikolai Bridge, with its original stone figures, is unique. The figures are not copies; they are genuine.

        Hochstraße - Nikolaibrücke
The old high street Bamberg Würzburg is located at the height of the Goldberg. In this area it also forms the boundary between Ampferbach and Burgebrach. To the east lies the “Clasbrücke”, the Nikolaibrücke, in the valley floor. This bridge, located near Grasmannsdorf, is unique in its kind, yes it is a cultural gift. Seven man-high stone figures standing on large plinths connect several bridge arches (there should have been seven, hence seven figures) which span the Raue Ebrach and the meadow. They are a vivid look. Seen from Burgebrach, these are:
Cilian, Nikolaus, Johannes-Nepomuk, Wolfgang, Otto, Heinrich, Vitus.
Cilian is the patron saint of the Main Franconia (Würzburg). Nicholas is associated with the bridge name and the offering box.
Johannes - Nepomuk is written on every bridge.
Wolfgang was the bishop of Regensburg.
Bishop Otto had a firm connection to Bamberg.
Emperor Heinrich founded the Archdiocese of Bamberg. Vitus is the church patron of Burgebrach.
The seven figures are not copies, they are real (original). At the earlier, old wooden bridge there was a St. Nicholas shrine connected to one
Offering box. When crossing the bridge everyone had to provide the bridge target. The yield was plentiful and sculptors from Bamberg and Coburg used the surplus to create today's figures.
