If you take the route as described, you should be aware that in damp/wet weather, parts of the route are on unpaved roads.
This meant that both of our bikes (MTB!) were no longer rideable.
Thanks to a local resident and her garden hose, we were able to clean the wheels, frame and gears of mud again.
