Two-part monument complex, consisting of a figure sitting on a stone smoking a pipe and a horse grazing in the background. The monument was initiated in 1999 by the Austro-Ukrainian Society and was unveiled on September 15, 2003 on the occasion of the 320th anniversary of the Second Turkish Siege. It commemorates the use (share) of Cossacks in the relief battle for the liberation of Vienna on September 12, 1683. The monument was designed by the brothers Volodymyr Chepelyk and Oleksiy Chepelyk, and Volodymyr Skulskyy is named as the architect. The monument complex is completed by two memorial stones, which list the numerous supporters of the project in German and Ukrainian and provide information on Cossackism in German.
