    "... You can't tell from the simple buildings of today's Hof Remberg that there was once an important property here, the knight's seat Haus Remberg, also Rimberg and Rimmerich

    Remberg appears in a document for the first time in 1310. The document reveals not only the first known owner of Remberg, Knight Adolph von Kalkum-Lohausen, but also the original name of the castle: Rembrüggen for "Bridge to Rahm". Here, where the Anger flowed with all its water through the lowland until the 20th century, a bridge over the Anger must have existed since the end of the 13th century, connecting the towns of Huckingen and Rahm. ...
