The Kreuzgarten in Schaag was built in 1949 on the ruins of the West Wall during World War II. In the center is a seven meter high cross with the warning "Credo" (believe).

At the suggestion of Pastor Peter Schallenberg, who was then retired in Schaag and who had discovered a blown up Siegfried Line bunker on Karstrasse in 1947, the Schaager people laid paths in the surrounding wooded area and set up stations of the cross. The first thing that was erected on April 15, 1949, was the seven-meter-high oak cross and consecrated by Pastor Frenck. A memorial was erected between the Hochkreuz and the Mount of Olives Grotto. Since then, the population has been meeting there on Whitsun to commemorate the Schaager victims of the Second World War. The Mariengarten has been built directly adjacent to the Kreuzgarten since 1951. The protective mantle Madonna stands in a six-meter-high structure. The statue comes from the artist Peter Bahn from Höhr-Grenzhausen.

      The
Cross Garden was created in 1950. At the suggestion of the retired pastor Peter Schallenberg, who had discovered a blown-up West Wall bunker on Karstrasse, the people of Schaag laid out paths and erected Stations of the Cross in the surrounding forest. A seven-meter-high wooden cross, which bears the inscription "CREDO" ("I believe") in the shape of a cross on both beams, towers over the entire complex. A memorial was erected between the high cross and the Mount of Olives Grotto. Since then, the population has met here on Pentecost to commemorate the Schaag victims of the Second World War. The Mariengarten was created in 1951 directly adjacent to the Cross Garden. The Madonna of the Protective Cloak stands in a six-meter-high altar-like structure.

Trade fairs were or will probably still be held here. You can walk through the garden and look at many small "shrines".
