The route initially climbs only gently in the quite idyllic valley floor, after about 5 kilometers the gradient increases, but always remains moderate at a maximum of 8%. One of the largest differences in altitude (406 meters) that can be ridden on a racing bike in one go in the Odenwald (Gaimühle-Sender Reisenbach). The surface is (2018) in good condition, the entire section can be driven very smoothly.
