View of Malmedy from Forêt de Chaumont

From here you have a beautiful view of Malmedy.

From Pouhon de Malmedy, where you can taste the ferruginous water at the spring, you can leave the car and have a pleasant picnic, at the foot of a steep path which climbs towards Wavreumont on a steep but shaded slope, up to follow the motorway not far from the "Malmedy" exit, then take a tight angle of almost 180 degrees, always uphill, parallel to the motorway, then moving away from it to reach the "Guillaume Apollinaire" monument. The undergrowth is splendid, the paths are pleasant despite the slope, the nature is superb and we finally discover from very high up an immense and splendid panorama, towards Stavelot on one side and towards Malmedy on the other. Unavoidable !

FROM Ferme LIBERT towards Malmedy, avoiding the road, the first kilometer is easy and a nice, pleasant descent under the deciduous trees, via a beautiful path, then the second kilometer is steeply inclined, sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill, until reaching (quite high) the road which goes down towards Outrelepont! Charming but tiring!
