Really nice safe beach. You can swim a short distance out to a reef.
Facilities are there and there is a shop/cafe. The cafe is now pretty good, having previously been both unfriendly and poor.
Not cheap parking at the beach but you can park on the hill, with a mile or so to walk down to the beach,for free.
Dogs permitted on the beach.

Cycling

Pretty safe swimming. There is a reef a short way out from the main walk to the beach. So you can swim out to it depending on tide and you will be back in your depth. I guess you could maybe do a bit of rock pooling. Hilly road to and from beach. Harder cycling back. Much better cafe there now (Aug 2024) and they have a water tap.
