The donkey at the entrance to the pedestrian zone in Salzgitter-Bad has delighted young and old for decades. In 1979 the sculpture "The stubborn donkey" was erected there. It was designed by Prof. E. S. Reuter from Berlin and was a gift from the citizens of Salzgitter-Bad.
