Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe was the designer of the park, which was created on behalf of Cornelius de Greiff in the course of the construction of the small hunting lodge in Greiffenhorst. Weyhe transformed the Linner Mühlenbach into elongated ponds, framed by winding paths and spanned by small bridges. Free "landscape windows" connected the park to its surroundings, which optically dissolved the narrow boundary of the park. Despite a number of fellings, there are still old trees that were planted under M. F. Weyhe. These include copper beeches, pedunculate oaks, sweet chestnuts, lime trees, tulip trees and American trumpet trees. In the course of EUROGA 2002+, the park was restored and the historical route re-established.
