Tap de Xampany is located within the Sot del Bac. It is a peculiar rocky column that is the result of the erosion of Triassic limestone formed 200 million years ago. Its walls have been a school for many climbers.

The Tap de Xampany is one of the most representative needles of Sot del Bac (Figaró), a climbing area near Barcelona, where we find limestone rock and routes around 20-30 meters. Years ago, Sot del Bac was an important climbing school, largely because it could be reached by train, but now it seems to have been forgotten.
