Pla de la Calma is a plateau in its westernmost part of the Montseny massif. The wide extension of the Pla de la Calma includes portions in the municipalities of Figueró, Tagamanent, Sant Pere de Vilamajor, la Garriga and Cànoves and Samalús. The Pla de la Calma joins the other two large mountain groups that make up the massif: the ridge of the hill of Home (1,706 m) and de les Agudes (1,703 m) and the hill of Matagalls (1,697 m), through the Sant Marçal and Collformic passes, respectively, encircling the upper basin of the Tordera river.

The Pla de la Calma is crossed by the long-distance trail GR 5 known as the Miradors trail, which joins the GR 97 del Vallès by the short-distance trail PR-C 139, known as the Pi Novell trail, crossing the municipality of Sant Pere de Vilamajor.

The terrain is formed by sedimentary rocks that result from the compaction of sediments accumulated by the erosion of the mountains. The reddish sandstones that can be seen in the constructions of the area, such as the Brull church or the Red Tower of Vilamajor, are characteristic.

The Pla de la Calma are large stretches of meadows and heathland, a shrub formation. Although it would naturally be covered with forests, the current image corresponds to the traditional exploitation of livestock and agriculture.
