The Fischerhude Church is the successor to a medieval chapel, whose roots go back to the late 15th century. The chapel was torn down in 1841 and the present church was built in the late classicist style, in which the first Fischerhude pastor was introduced in 1852. In 1859 the Fischerhuder took their old gravestones from the Wilstedt cemetery and inserted them into the churchyard wall around their church. The Steie still adorn the wall today.
