This is a lovely wooden chapel on a Dorset clifftop. If you walk to the rear there are plenty of benches for you to rest and enjoy the views over Lyme Bay.
The small wooden church, which forms part of the Watercombe Benefice, holds a service on the fourth Sunday of the month.

0pened for Divine service on 15 July 1906. The woodwork of the church was done by Mr. Moore of Owermoigne and all masonry work by Mr. Walter Toms of Winfrith Newburgh.

The church's bell was gifted by Lieutenant Commander Michael Forder of the Royal Navy. It originally belonged to the S-class submarine HMS Sleuth and was given to Forder by the Admiralty. It hung outside his house for a number of years before he gifted it to the church
Built in 1926, and from the outside you could easily mistake it for an oversized garden shed, but don't be fooled by the exterior. Inside it has all the makings of a beautiful little chapel, it even has several graves at the rear in the gardens. it's quiet, peaceful and breathtakingly scenic views are what makes it so unique. I have been past twice now, and on both occasions did not give the place the time it deserved. I shall be back for a third visit, where I hope to spend a considerable amount of time studying the place.
