In the Baroque period, these beautiful creatures were bred to edify the upper classes, hence their name. Their white skin and light yellow fur shine from afar, and their light blue eyes sparkle up close.By the way: white donkeys are also extremely sure-footed animals. Like all donkeys, however, they are difficult to lead across even small streams - they cannot judge how deep the water is and seem to remain "stubborn". This is why small bridges were built over the smallest streams in the Middle Ages, the so-called "donkey bridges".You should definitely remember that the sun literally rises when you meet these friendly animals. Especially when a young foal joins them, the hearts of cyclists and hikers are won in no time.Source: burgenland.info/artikel-detail?dcid=1223e2b2-4aed-493f-8e69-ec4b895192a6&cHash=ee747aad19ec8ab8e3ce5173a7b2112f

The rare white donkeys can be seen on the edge of the preservation zone of Lake Neusiedl National Park. There is also a lookout tower (a gift from the Hungarian border guards) for a wide all-round view.
