The Ohlyturm marks the 514 meter high Felsberg summit not far from the Felsenmeer. Unfortunately, the tower has not been accessible for many years.

The Ohlyturm was built in 1900/1901 from Latertal granite on the Felsberg, where the Romans also worked their stones in the 2nd century. It is named after the Lord Mayor of Darmstadt, Albrecht Ohly (1829 - 1891).

For a long time you could see the 27 meter high tower sticking out above the treetops. In the meantime, the mixed beech forest has grown so high that you can just barely see the top of it. Stylistically, it is a late example of the romanticizing historicism of the 19th century, which was modeled on medieval castles and fortified structures.

Beautiful tower, but unfortunately not accessible

        Highest point of the Felsberg.

From here you can continue your tour downhill through the sea of rocks.
