The northern part of Rømø, Juvre Sand, is a 20 km² area that has been used for military training purposes since 1954. Today, it is primarily used for training by army pilots, who attack mock-ups of tanks, aircraft, and military vehicles with aircraft.

During the exercises, flares are fired, and a flashing white light glows on the control tower. It is generally forbidden to enter the area.

However, you may observe the exercises from an observation platform.

Please note that laser light is used during the exercises, which can cause eye damage. Therefore, the use of binoculars is not recommended.
