The so-called shooting range is located in the northern part of the island of Romo and covers an area of more than 20 million m², most of which is not accessible to the public for safety reasons. Since 1954 the pilots have been practicing here on the so-called Romo Ranch of the Danish armed forces, with dummies such as planes, vehicles and tanks being distributed around the area for shooting exercises. Never point binoculars or cameras at the vehicles during target practice, as laser beams can cause serious eye damage.
