Another ferry crossing point, located on the north side of the river between Rhenen and Wageningen. I was surprised to find myself on my bike as the only person on the ferry, no cars, no bikes, no people. Must be a quieter day.

Sail all year round. crossing is 70 euro cents. This will take you to the Blue Room. Nearby is Restaurant 't Veerhuis where you can have a nice lunch. The ferry house has been here since 1800 and is the place where passers-by could go to the taproom for a cup of coffee or a drink and for a ferry ticket across the river Rhine. As soon as you step inside you imagine yourself back in time, with old creaking wooden floors and a beautiful bar.

The Opheusdense Veer is one of the oldest Dutch ferries. The ferry was already mentioned in documents around 1300, but seems to have sailed in the 9th century.
