Hiking

The merchant Ludwig Knoop had his summer residence built here and in 1871 he had an English-style park laid out. There were also houses for his daughters and their families, whose former country houses are now all grouped together in Knoop's public park. The so-called mirror pond was part of the park belonging to Mühlental Castle, which was built in 1871. Until its demolition in 1933, the castle was reflected in the pond and gave it its name.
