Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)
The Werderland is a river lowlands landscape on the right bank of the Weser in the north of Bremen. In the north, the Werderland is bounded by the Lesum, in the southwest of the Weser and in the east of the Bremen dune. The Werderland district in the Burglesum district of Bremen has a smaller extension than the landscape, as the industrial and commercial area around the steelworks and other reserve areas belong to the industrial district.

Diverse and diverse, but also contradictory: This is the nature reserve Werderland in the north of Bremen. Meadows and dozens of ditches characterize the landscape at the Lesum's confluence with the Weser. This combination attracts numerous animals that otherwise only find little space: birds such as bluethroat and bittern, nightingale and kingfisher, more than 30 different butterflies and dragonflies and amphibians. In the winter months, thousands of Nordic geese and other water birds also rest there. Immediately next to this idyll are a huge steel mill and, as a sign of modern industry, several large wind turbines.
