Classic route to the top of Pen Y Fan and a great thigh burner. Made infamous by the SAS as part of their Fan Dance event. It's a great place to work out and get some of the best views in the central range of the Brecon Beacons at the same time.

A High fitness level is essential!! Not your average easy ascend like the other side to the beautiful peak of Penyfan! Oh no this is So much steeper than you actually think.. I'd say it's a difficult route either way you try this hike/walk it's a good burn on the thighs, if your a beginner then it will be brutal if you haven't done a similar terrain at any point before then those legs will feel it for quite some time.

This is a good route up Pen y Fan, it's steeper than the standard Storey Arms style route and has a much longer entry route. However it's definitely something that needs doing from time to time for an added challenge.
