The chalk coast stretches from the outskirts of Wedding in Sassnitz to Lohme. The highlight shown here is just behind the entrance to the national park and gives you a first view of the chalk coast: the Gakower Ufer and the Wissower Ufer. Not far from here, at the Piratenschlucht, you can take a staircase to the Hochuferweg. If you want to continue walking down the coast, you should note that the next ascent is only possible at the Kieler Bach.
Along the chalk coast you can often find fossils such as sea urchins, thunderstones, petrified corals and mussels. However, extreme caution is advised, particularly in winter or during storms and heavy rain.

Along the stone beach you can always admire the great chalk cliffs. But be careful after rain or ice. Then there is a risk of the rocks breaking off.

Not easy to walk on the stones but the view and the view of the cliffs is terrific 🤗👍
