The detour to the Ramsberg is definitely worth it. The St. Wendelin Chapel is not only historically interesting. The Klause St Benedikt is inhabited by a monk from the Beuron Monastery (Brother Jakobus) who, when we passed there on Sunday afternoon, offered coffee and drinks on a donation basis.

A beautiful spiritual place in the middle of the forest to unwind. The structure of the chapel dates back to the high medieval castle complex (11th century) of the Counts of Ramsberg and Pfullendorf. The choir room was painted on the dried plaster and its style is in the tradition of the late Gothic school of painting around Lake Constance. Other examples can be found, for example, in the Konstanz Minster, in the chapel on the Kyburg near Winterthur or in the Galluskirche in Mühlheim/Donau.

Very nice hike, but leads for about 100m through private land
