Here at the hamlet of Old Schmölz, the two streams "Big and Small Koser" unite to Koserbach. Up to this junction, the Grossen Koser has a length of 9.9 km and the Kleine Koser a length of 3.5 km. From there, the Koser flows on a length of 4.5 km to Wirsberg, where it flows into the Schorgast.

At the barn at the edge of the "wasteland" you can find out more about the serpentine grinding shop in Kosertal. From 1800 to around 1920, everyday objects (chalices, watch weights, warming stones, etc.) were made from serpentinite from Peterlestein in the estate of the Müller family.
