Pluto is the clubhouse of the Hameln Marine Association. A former minesweeper "Pluto", was the former sponsorship of the city of Hameln and is one of the few, still well-preserved decommissioned minesweepers of the rifle class.

      Fast rifle class minesweeper

The Pluto was handed over to the German Navy in early 1960 and retired on July 1, 1987.

It has been in Hameln since January 30, 1988 and has been used as the clubhouse of the Hamelin Navy Comradeship since 1992.

After the end of the Second World War, clearing boats and deep-sea mine search boats that came from the stocks of the Kriegsmarine were initially put into service under the command of the US Navy with German crews in the Baltic and North Sea area. Between 1958 and 1969, 74 New buildings put into service. With 30 units, the fast minesweepers were the strongest class.

The hull is made of teak, mahogany and oak and is therefore insensitive to magnetic mines. All boats had traditional names that name individual celestial bodies or constellations, including the PLUTO.

PLUTO is the former godfather of the city of Hameln.
