Hiking
After intensive clearing and drainage measures, turnips were even grown here around the middle of the 20th century, so the landscape was used as arable land.
However, this natural area should again become the habitat of many endangered plants and animals. Since 1980, the city of Braunschweig, together with the state of Lower Saxony, has been buying up areas in order to renaturate them accordingly.
