The almost 8km long Othe is created by two source streams that flow together at Freischlade - south of Belmicke. The Othe then runs a little way parallel to the Dörspe, into which it flows in Bergneustadt, and forms an approx. 1.5 km wide, natural brook valley, the Othetal, in the middle of the spruce forest. Altenothe, Baldenberg, Brelöh, Freischlade, Geschleide, Immicke and Neuenothe are located in the Othetal, which belongs to the municipality of Bergneustadt. The largest town in the Othetal is Neuenothe, a village that first appeared in the history books in 1805 as a suburb of Belmicke. The Othe flows through the middle of the village. In Neuenothe there is a small Protestant chapel that belongs to the Wiedenest parish.

It's beautiful... it's best to come early in the morning when the light is good for taking photos.
