If you are on the road bike on Höhenmeterjagd, no path leads past the highest point of the Oberbergischer Kreis. A little tip to get everything out of you: make the detour up to the tower (extra meters!) And then sprint up the 22 steps up. Burns beautifully in the calves, but is rewarded in good weather with a wonderful view.
The observation tower on the Unnenberg (22 meters) with an altitude of 506 meters above sea level is the highest elevation in the Oberbergischer Kreis. The tower provides a panoramic view of the surrounding area, in particular the area of the Genkel and the Aggertalsperre, both of which are located in the area of the city of Gummersbach. On days with good visibility, the Siebengebirge on the Rhine and the tips of the Cologne Cathedral can be seen. Source: marienheide.de/tourismus/sehenswuerdigkeiten/aussichtsturm-unnenberg.html
