These 5,000-year-old tombs are among the most significant archaeological monuments between Hamburg and Hanover and have been under monument protection since 1832. They are located in the middle of the Bergen-Hohne Training Area, surrounded by a fascinating landscape.
**Important information for your visit:**
- The only public access begins at a guard post with a barrier in Ostenholz, about 4 kilometers southeast of the Walsrode motorway junction.
- The access road leads through several kilometers of the restricted military training area, which is regularly cleared of unexploded ordnance.
- Please check the current firing times to avoid potential road closures.
