Where breathtaking steep locations, arduous manual work, mineral slate floors and the full power of the sun meet, no ordinary wines can be made. Our

Products are something special - tailor-made individual pieces.

Steep vineyards mean one thing above all: manual work. This ranges from pruning in winter to vintage in autumn. Every single grape goes through the scrutiny of our reading team. The use of machines to manage our vineyards is only possible to a limited extent. As a result, workload and physical strain are much higher than on the level. Our yields are also considerably lower due to the barren, stony and rocky soils.

Despite these supposed disadvantages of the steep slope, we accept the challenge to take advantage of the qualitative advantages. Due to the slope, our vines enjoy a higher level of sunshine and the stony subsoil stores the sun's heat well into the night. The low putrefaction pressure on our shallow soils allows us a long ripening period on the vine and thus the late harvest.

In order to meet the special demands of the steep slope, we deliberately keep old vineyards and rely on old Riesling clones for the new planting. These are able to survive dry periods better and produce particularly extract-rich wines. One can say: the steep slopes influence our good quality.

The Rheinsteig and countless other hiking trails invite you to get an idea of the Lorcher vineyards. Best accompanied by an Altenkirch wine!

Visited several times, this point is always the highlight for bon vivants ... despite the heavy rush in the area of the Niederwald monument you are almost alone here ... and that's not all ... the view of the Binger Loch, the castle Ehrenfels and the Mouse tower is at this point especially "eye-friendly" ... and then there is still standing in front of a concrete box with secured door, this has been successfully opened by pulling through his card through the card reader, presents a fine selection of sweets from the immediate hillside ... white, red, wine or must ... awesome !!!
