Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)
The Kühtaisattel is a real classic, not least because it is part of the Ötztaler Radmarathon. With high gradients and some crisp, steep passages, this pass has a lot to offer and is considered one of the more demanding alpine crossings. At 2,017 meters above sea level you have in clear weather great views of the surrounding peaks such as the Pirchkogel and the Gaißkogel, both about 2,800 meters high. On the downhill you should take care a bit. Although there are few cars, but all the more cows - and what comes out of those;)

Unlike many other passes, the Kühtaisattel invites not to linger. It's a pity, those who make it up here with the bike can be proud of themselves and deserve a break. Tip: If you do not want to rest right in the village, you can take a break further down in the traditional alpine inns.

Lingering on the saddle and throwing in the necessary carbohydrates is well deserved before heading towards Innsbruck, always following the trail of the Ötztal Cycle Marathon. Thanks to the repeatedly flatter passages, the Kühtai is not the beast of this tour, but it is still demanding.

Seen in this way, Kühtai is not the prettiest village, the view of the valley (regardless of west or east) is very good.
