Scheitelhaltung Sculpture at the European Watershed

At Pierheim you cross the main European watershed between the Rhine and the Danube. The MD channel has here with 406 m its highest point. There is also a monument to admire. Crowning is the name of a sculpture designed by Hannsjörg Voth at the apex of the Main-Danube Canal. Its two wall-like parts adjoin the two banks of the canal where it passes the European watershed or the watershed between the Main river flowing over the Rhine to the North Sea and the Danube River flowing to the Black Sea.
The two walls made of white granite blocks aligned with each other with their 6 cm wide upper boundary surface, which disappear at the outer ends in the grown ground, with each other.
