Close to nature forest path. If you like it even more adventurous, you should (coming from the mausoleum) go the right way up. At some point the path leads back to the Maltengraben.

The Maltengraben, also known as the Lugaer Graben, is a ditch in the southeast of Dresden that only carries water during heavy rain or thaws. It begins near the towns of Röhrsdorf and Wölkau (Heidenau) and then flows through the Maltengrund, where it reaches the city of Dresden. A few years ago, a flood retention basin was built here above the Alte Landstraße.

At Lugaer Straße, it turns east and from there runs on an artificial high dam past the Zschachwitz substation. After crossing under the railway line of the Dresden-Schöna railway line, it flows into the Lockwitzbach near the Am Wiesenrand road. The total length of the Maltengraben is around 4.6 kilometers. Since the Maltengraben runs through residential and commercial areas for long stretches, it has been channeled and expanded since the 18th century. In recent years, renaturation measures have been carried out in some places, including north of the railway line.
