Today's Marienkapelle, which was formerly dedicated to Saint George and Vitus, was built in front of the hospital gate of the suburban wall in the late 15th century.
The Baroque sandstone ashlar building with its richly decorated late Gothic polygonal chancel has served as a cemetery church since the municipal cemetery was relocated.
The interior contains important rococo furnishings with three altars. The original late Gothic net rib vault has been preserved in the sanctuary.
