During the term of office of Pastor Dr. Wilhelm Pleß laid the foundation stone for the Born church on October 4, 1934. The Borner Church was designed by the Hamburg architect Berhard Hopp (1893–1962). Craftsmen from Darß built these under his guidance and help. The church was consecrated on March 31, 1935.The wooden church with a cane roof is in harmony with the unspoiled landscape of the Western Pomerania Lagoon National Park and the traditional construction of the town, with its cane-roofed houses.

The Borner Fischerkirche was built in the winter of 1934/1935. It belongs to the Evangelical Church Community and is still characterized today by its unique architectural design. Since the building had to fit into the surrounding landscape, the church was made of wood.
Inside, wooden stands supported the structure, which was strengthened using iron anchors.
A ship model was given a central place between two iron chandeliers: it should be seen as a special feature of the church and symbolize the everyday life of the people by the sea.In June 2010, the community began restoring the interior of the church according to this original design idea. Today's altar cross, the candlesticks on the altar, the chandeliers and the tower tap were made by the Born blacksmith Johann Bülow. In addition, two new ship models decorate the interior of the Schifferkirche. They were received as thanks from Born sailors.ostsee.de/fischland-darss-zingst/fischerkirche-born.php
