The tower hill system, which dates from around 1000, is assigned to the Walpots and is considered the predecessor of the Wirsberg Castle, built by the Andechs-Meranians around 1200. Pottery fragments from the 11th century on the still preserved terrace tower hill point to the settlement. The tower hill itself was removed after 1841 and completely leveled in 1889.
