Amoltern (town of Endingen) is located in a small side valley of the Kaiserstuhl.

Amoltern was first mentioned around 800. The location was a disadvantage for the development of Amoltern for a long time, because the population developed only very moderately due to a lack of employment opportunities. With the municipal reform, Amoltern was affiliated with the town of Endingen.
