THE KAYHAUSER MOORLEICHENot only does it look creepy in the brownish preservation liquid, but it also has a terrible story - the corpse of an 11 to 13 year old boy who was discovered 76 years ago in the Kayhauser Moor. The gruesome find from pre-Christian times has been one of the attractions in the State Museum of Natural History and Prehistory (Oldenburg) for many decades. The site in the Kayhauser Moor was marked with a wooden sign by Gerd Bigeschke. In 1998, the bog body again occupied science. Researchers found - supported by the most modern examination methods such as computed tomography - the exact age of the boy.The tied and stabbed boy was sunk in the moor exactly 2362 years ago. It is only thanks to the immediate exclusion of air, the conserving power of the bog and the correctly acting finder that the corpse still provides information about the way of life, the circumstances and the course of events.

To commit all day. According to note at your own risk. Very nicely done and interesting. It's entertaining and quickly manageable, but still a must if you're nearby.

Nice natural history place. I like these small and lovingly prepared information points 🤔💡🙂
