"Suddenly it's there, just past Speicher, down in the deep valley of the Kyll.
Located on the Mühlenweg, the first hiking trail of the day, we come across an angler's home.
Slightly getting on in years, fabulously decorated with cobwebs, with latently erotic wall paintings from the fifties(?), one half of the house is unlocked and lures with the wall inscription:
"Welcome to the quiet Eifel pilgrim who is reading the book of nature."
Well, if that's not an invitation.
We'll follow her immediately.
